Degel Hatorah MKs including R’ Moshe Gafne and R’ Uri Maklev met with Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita. Accompanying them was R’ Avraham Rubinstein, secretary of the Degel Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael.

It appears they discussed the possibility of another meeting of the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael of Degel Hatorah, Shas and Agudas Yisrael. The new reality vis-à-vis the draft law and calls from some rabbonim shlita to cut any and all cooperation with IDF authorities may compel a new joint session of the Gedolim Shlita, as until now, Degel has been of the opinion that talmidim should report to an induction center the first time to provide personal information.

Some admorim of the Agudas Yisrael Council of Sages have expressed their opinion, to cut all ties with the IDF, including reporting for a first draft notice appearance.
