WATCH MOVING VIDEOS: IDF Soldiers Cry Out ‘Shema Yisrael, Hashem Melech’ Before Entering Rafah

Videos of IDF soldiers davening for Hashem’s protection before entering Rafah overnight Monday circulated on social media in Israel.

In two of the videos below, Rabbi Itamar Paz, the Rav of the 401st Armored Brigade, which captured the Rafah crossing on Tuesday morning, davens with his soldiers.

B’Chasdei Hashem, no soldiers were injured in the overnight operation.

  1. But… but… but… – isn’t the Israeli army’s main purpose to shmad heiligeh Yeshiva bochrim??? Isn’t that the whole point of the Avoda Zara of Zionism??? And yet you have a Rav as the one to encourage them, and the soldiers eager to receive this chizuk.

Maybe some people should rethink their views in light of reality.

Nothing has changed. The army still wants that.
But the soldiers themselves, the precious Yiddishe neshamos, they know, and they want this.

  3. The last video is not from going into Rafah it’s an old video from October that went viral. Pretty misleading headline from YWN although I’m sure the soldiers are still davening! May HKBH watch over them.

  4. isn’t the Israeli army’s main purpose to shmad heiligeh Yeshiva bochrim??? why do you say that. in all countries at war everybody has to go in the army even a groom has to go out to fight

  5. @Huhhh – you do realize that it’s the army that sent these Rabbanim – all members of the army too – to speak with those soldiers, right? That would seem to conflict with the evil motives you attribute to “THE ARMY!!!”.

As to their being precious neshamos – I could not agree more. I could be mistaken, but I think I may have seen my son in one of the videos…

@look – I was being sarcastic in my original comment, in case that was not clear. I absolutely agree with the basic Halacha Pesuka of “hakol yotze’im” – my sons closed their gemaras to go join the fight to defend the Am Hashem haYoshev b’Tzion.
