WATCH: Schumer Accuses Trump Of “Textbook Antisemitism” For Saying Jewish Democrats Hate Israel And Their Religion

(Senate TV via AP)

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer delivered a speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday, condemning former President Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats.

Schumer began his speech by addressing Trump’s “reprehensible and dangerous comments,” stating, “The former president’s comments were utterly disgusting and a textbook example of the kind of anti-Semitism facing Jews.”

Trump had made the comments on Sebastian Gorka’s America First radio show on Monday, saying that Jews who support Democrats “hate their religion” and must also hate Israel, adding that “they should be ashamed of themselves.”

This is not the first time Trump has made such comments. In August 2019, he said, “I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

Schumer said, “When the former president of the United States uses language that is so clearly anti-Semitic, it gives a green light to white supremacists and neo-Nazis, and it encourages hate and violence against Jewish people.”

He added: “Pushing the dangerous anti-Semitism trope of dual loyalty to say you hate Israel or your religion, excuse me, to say you hate Israel or your religion because you have one political view over the other is sick. It’s hateful. It is unadulterated anti-Semitism, and it serves to use Israel as a political wedge further damaging the bonds between US and Israel.

“We have always tried. I’ve always tried through the years to keep everything we do on Israel bipartisan, and to use it for partisan purposes hurts Israel, hurts America, and displays how low Donald Trump would go. And nobody who breaks bread with anti-Semites like Nick Fuentes and who called white supremacists in Charlottesville ‘very good people,’ or who, as was recently reported, said disgustingly that Hitler did some good things, has any right, any right to lecture Jewish Americans about their personal political beliefs.

“I condemn the former president’s irresponsible comments and urge others from both sides, both sides, to do the same.”

  1. maybe chuckie can shut his mouth and stop being a textbook lib: decrying “textbook antisemitism” but engaging in active anti semitism.

  2. Rewarding terrorism by giving them a state and guarranteeing more terrorist attacksis not anti semitism. Only calling out self hating Jews is. Typical liberal logic.

  3. Haman said thousands of years ago, “Yeshno Am Echad Mefuzar Umefurad Bain Hamim”.
We need to rectify this Lashon Hara. Not strengthen it.

  4. I agree with Mr. Trump. Any Jew who lives Israel should had changed political parties when BHO (Obama) was made President in 2009.

The Democrats have done nothing to help Israel especially after October 7th. They are supporting Qatar, I-Ran and indirectly Ham-Ass.

  5. Biden: ‘If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black’. I guess it worked for the alleged President Joe Biden.

  6. One second, on shabbos I was in a hospital in Manhattan and our frei cousin came to visit and drove there and we said how this guy probably now will still vote Democrat, and how is that shayach in todays climate.

Does that make us anti semites too?

  7. Shummer happens to be 100% correct here.

If US support for Israel becomes partisan (abd only Republicanssupport, with Democrats against), similar to abortion and gun control, we will end of eith Democrat politicians bring forced to br anti Israel, similar to abortion and gun control.
No Democrat can be anti abortion. It’s impossible to win.

This is what could happen if US support for Israel becomes partisan.
It forces politicians to be anti Israel.
    Very dangerous.

Also, the Republicans are NOT pro jewish.
They don’t support Israel for the “democracy / free country” reasons of 40 years ago.
These people are just as anti Semitic as Hamas and Iran, but th ey go about it more covertly. More sinister.

We could end up in a situation where all jews will have to be anti Israel just to survive, because the Republicans will be swallowing us alive.

  8. One mistake Mr Schumer.
Mr Trumps love for Jews shld be scrutinized. Hes been given a pass way too much by Jewish blind sheep.
Another mistake, u can hate Israel but but cant hate their religion cuz they have NONE.
Israel is a G dless State where all SHMUTZ is allowed.
Israel founders Herzl &… DESPISED religion and made no secret of it.
So hating Israel is one thing. Religion is a total different thing.
    Just a simple clarification

  9. Ask the most practicing Jews both in the US and around the world especially Israel they will tell you that Trump was the best US president for the Jews (by far) and todays Democrats are Jew HATERS who have brought so much death destruction and boycotts against Israel

    There you go Gestapo Chuck
