Two Shin Bet agents were injured in a shooting attack in Gush Etzion on Tuesday afternoon.

The attack, which occurred between the Gush Etzion junction and Migdal Oz, occurred while they were carrying out an operational activity in the area. The terrorist shot them from close-range, one in the chest and the second in the shoulder.

Some reports said that the agents were meeting an informer, who changed his mind and turned on them.

The IDF said that the two agents were evacuated, fully conscious to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem, one in serious condition and one in light condition.

The Shin Bet later confirmed that the two victims were Shin Bet operatives and said that they returned fire at the terrorist, a resident of Jenin, and neutralized him.
