AGAIN: Brush Fire In New Jersey Sending Smoke Into NYC

f

For the second time this week, a brush fire in New Jersey is pouring thick black smoke into the air and can be smelled in parts of New York City.

The fire was reported shortly before noon Thursday in a grassy area in Edison, about 30 miles southwest of Manhattan.

Television news footage shows bright flames, a few acres of charred grass and thick smoke.

It has reportedly been smelled in Staten Island.

The fire earlier this week was on Sunday, and was along Batsto Road in Wharton State Forest (NJ). That location is more than 90 miles from New York City. The FDNY received many phone calls reporting the smell of smoke on Sunday.
