Sanzer Rebbe: “Laniado Hospital Officials Received Frightening Emergency Orders”

A gathering of Sanzer chassidim was held this week, at which the Rebbe warned of the frightening security situation in Israel, saying that senior officials at Laniado Hospital received ominous emergency instructions in the case of a war that could break out any moment [from the north] that would make the war in Gaza seem like child’s play.

The Rebbe added that he doesn’t want to frighten the audience and is revealing only a little of what the hospital officials were told.

The Rebbe said that Kabbalas Ol Shamayim has the power to save Yisrael and davka in our generation, teshuvah is readily accepted.

The Rebbe spoke about standing firm against this generation’s nisyonos by drawing on the neshamah’s elevation and simcha.

“Today we don’t feel the physical galus as much as the past compared to the constant persecutions and pogroms that Jewish kehillos suffered for hundreds of years,” the Rebbe said. “The ikar of the galus in our generation is the spiritual galus – people who lose their Jewish humanity due to the nisyonos of technology.”

The Rebbe continued by speaking about the terrible klipah of technological devices that bring people to a “place of mockery” [מושב לצים], even if they’re physically in their own homes.

The Rebbe repeated several times that disconnecting from technology is viewed as mamash mesirus nefesh. “This is the mesirus nefesh of our generation,” he emphasized.

  1. Given the seriousness of the situation, I wonder if they would consider registering to fight in the army. הכל יוצאין אפילו חתן מחדרו וכלה מחופתה. I can’t understand why the Tannaim don’t just say הכל צועקין בתפילה or הכל לומדים לזכותם, or something else like that. Did the tana kamma and R’ Yehuda not know that our tefilose are even more powerful in a milchemes mitzvah/chovah? But what can we do, that is the halacha. Is the point here that only once the enemies start killing people inside Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak, only then would this halacha be lmayseh? or even then not?

  2. I just deleted my Facebook account, Took YouTube and Instagram and chess.com off my phone, needed to do this anyway, Hope it will help EY. Needed to read this. (Sorry YWN- you aint losing me yet…)

  3. M,

הכל יוצאין. Under whose auspices, the IDF’s? An organization that doesn’t operate under strict halachic guidelines? Is that what the tanna meant, my “learned” friend? If you don’t respect the hierarchy of halachic decisors (todays poskim), please don’t quote from those sources (The Talmud) which give them their legal authority.

  4. I have no idea what EggMob has in mind when they suggest that the IDF doesn’t operate under strict halachic guidelines. They don’t give pturim for those with new houses or who have recently become engaged? They don’t permit taking an אשת יפת תואר? They should give off an hour for mincha and three hours for night seder every night? Maybe their kashrus is not as stellar as in your kitchen, and maybe you think that they shouldn’t have any training on shabbos, or that women shouldn’t be allowed to fight (except for kallahs from their chuppahs), or that chayalim should have off all of Nissan so they can be home for Pesach.

The point is, the Sanzer Rebbe wasn’t joking, because what’s going on is no joke. Hundreds of thousands of people have left their families for weeks and weeks, months and months, and are risking their lives every day to defend Am Yisroel from our lovely neighbors. Of course it’s upsetting that some people think and act as if their own learning Torah is more important than the Torah learning of tens of thousands of yeshiva bochrim that do serve in the army, and also more important than the lives of everyone else. Of course it’s upsetting.

About the halacha itself – are there some poskim that say na, we don’t hold like that? I don’t remember the genera saying משבשתא or anything like that. In seriousness, what does the mishne mean when it says הכל יוצאין?
