Pro-Palestinian hackers known as “Anonymous” have been targeting hundreds of Israeli websites, internet sites with a URL ending with “gov.il”. It appears that most sites were unscathed but there was a measure of penetration detected on the websites of the Ministry of Education and Ports Authority.

The hackers report they succeeded in breaking into tens of government and other Israeli websites, including the Meretz Party, Globes newspaper and the official website of the president.

Israeli cyber security experts report that attacks are not just coming from neighboring nations but from Indonesia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and even China. The experts explain most of the cyber warfare is low level and there is no need for panic.
