Yerushalayim Names a Street After Rosh Yeshiva of Chevron Yeshiva

zb.jpgYerushalayim this week named a portion of Yeshiva Street, the location of Chevron Yeshiva, after the late rosh yeshiva, Rav Simcha Mordechai Zissel Brouda ZATZAL.

As the head of the city’s naming committee, Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky approved the move and took part in the ceremony which took place near the yeshiva’s old building in the Geula neighborhood.

Of late, the committee approved the naming of tens of streets after late Gedolei yisrael, a move that was met by strong objections by non frum opposition city councilmen.

For 75 years (1925-2000), Rav Brouda learned, taught, inspired, and motivated within the yeshiva as it moved from Chevron to Geulah to Givat Mordechai.
