Almagor May Turn to Supreme Court Against Prisoner Release

Meir Indor of the Almagor terror victim’s association is planning to turn to the Justice Ministry but he may then continue to the Supreme Court if he does not receive satisfaction. Indor is seeking to prevent the release of some of the 199 prisoners who are slated to be freed in Israel’s latest good-will gesture to the PA (Palestinian Authority).

Indor reports that 149 of the 199 have served prison sentences for involvement in attempted murder. 54 of them have not yet served half of their sentence and 17 less than one year.

Almagor is planning to file civil suits against a number of the terrorists on behalf of bereaved families sometime in the future. He adds that this marks the second time within a month the government is releasing terrorists “with blood on their hands, a move that even the Rabin government during Oslo would not have approved.”
