A photo has gone viral of IDF Soldiers inside the Hamas run Parliament.
The soldiers are from the Golani Brigade, and are seen posing for a selfie in front of the Parliament, located inside Gaza City.
The building has been used by Hamas “lawmakers” since they took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007.

As long as they are there, they should call the parliament in session, and unanimously declare an unconditional surrender and safe return of all the hostages!

Why the “quotation” marks? Hamas is the democratically elected government of Gaza. The people elected them, and there is every indication that the people of Gaza (among others) support their policies, including murdering Jews. Unlike the Nazis who tried to minimize how much the average German of the holocaust, not to mention many leading Nazis were afraid they might get prosecuted by their own side once politics shifted – Hamas was quite open about its activities and was rewarded with widespread celebrations. Your “quotation marks” indicate that you consider Hamas to be a bunch of criminals who have imposed themselves on the innocent Palestinians (who as innocent victims themselves merit support and sympathy); nothing could further from the truth. YWN should be more careful to avoid printing left wing, anti-Semitic propaganda.
In my opinion, it is not a good idea to share this photo.
This is antagonistic, and only serves to stir the emotions of Palestinians and their allies.The IDF and Israel generally do not look to upset anyone, and only want to defend and protect Israeli citizens.
What is the point of publicizing this?
We need to disarm Hamas. We need to return our captives. We need to ensure that Palestinians cannot harm us. This requires killing all their terrorists, and some human shields might die too.
But we are not looking for revenge. We do not want to gloat, embarrass or cause pain to any Palestinians (even though they all want to kill us and wipe us off the map).
Jews have always been peace-seeking – gloating like this only fans the flames.
