Biden administration officials have demanded an explanation of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s comments on Motzei Shabbos asserting that Israel will maintain security control over Gaza after the war, Kan News reported.
The Biden administration has called for the Palestinian Authority to govern Gaza after the war, a proposal that Netanyahu categorically rejected during his speech.
According to the report, Biden administration officials want to know exactly what Netanyahu was referring to regarding Israeli security control over Gaza.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said last week: “It’s clear that Israel cannot occupy Gaza.”

“Demands”, I don’t believe he actually used that word. The military leaders in Israel have a little better idea than Biden of what’s necessary to protect Israeli citizens.If he wants to really find out he can just civilly ask him. From the news it sounds like they’ve been speaking every day.

I will try to explain in plain English to the befuddled administration officials what this means.
This means that Israel will remain in control of Gaza after Hamas is eliminated. They will remain, stay, retain, keep, hold, possess, dominate, and in general rule the Gaza strip.
If they still do not understand the intent, they should please pick up a copy of “Counterterrorism For Dummies” at the local bookstore.
With all disrespect to the president and Secretary of State, they absolutely can maintain a security presence in Gaza and they have in the past.
Up until the so called disengagement in 2005 there were Jewish enclaves in the Gaza Strip and Israel maintained a security presence there.
Handing complete control of the strip to the political arm of the Fatah terrorist group (The Palestinian Authority) would be more foolhardy than it was in 2005.
That would be openly rewarding the behavior that led us to this situation.
Even if you were to cede some level of autonomy to the PA, it should only be through a comprehensive negotiation that includes Israel, keeping certain policing rights, an end to the “pay for slay scheme” among many other changes.
The Palestinian Authority gave Hamas the ability to run in their elections which partially led to Hamas seizing control of Gaza to begin with.

Blinken and Netanyahu know exactly what parents with children in the Israeli army want. They want them to stay as far away as possible from terrorists in Gaza after this war. The right wing fanatics demanding that Israeli soldiers remain permanently in harms way inside Gaza should really ponder the dangers of what they are requesting.
