Gazan civilians fled the northern Gaza Strip toward the south on Tuesday via a humanitarian corridor opened by the IDF.

A video of the scene, showing a long stream of Gazans, many bearing white flags, was published by Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), which is responsible for the implementation of civil and humanitarian policy in Yehudah and Shomron and the Gaza Strip.

Otzma Yehudit MK Almog Cohen commented on the video: “Gazans, who on October 7th distributed pastries and sang songs of glory, flee for their lives with white flags, submissive, humiliated, and afraid of the revenge of the eternal nation.”

The IDF’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee also posted the video, urging Gazans in Arabic to use the opportunity to move south according to the IDF’s instructions. “Rest assured that Hamas leaders have already taken care of themselves,” he concluded.

COGAT published a similar video on Sunday, stating: “The IDF is continuing its efforts to facilitate the southward movement of civilians in the northern Gaza Strip to the southern part of the strip for their safety.”

Last week, the IDF published footage of Hamas terrorists attacking IDF troops opening a humanitarian corridor with mortar and anti-tank fire.

  1. Hopefully the IDF is monitoring who are fleeing southward: regular citizens or Hamas in camouflage! The fact that Hamas is not firing upon them is factually valid reason for concern.
