REPORT: El Al To Stop Flying Over Saudi Arabia And Oman

El Al has opted to discontinue its practice of flying over Saudi Arabia and Oman on routes to southeast Asia, according to Hebrew media reports. This change will result in a significant extension of flight durations.

For instance, a flight to Bangkok, which previously took 8.5 hours, will now require 11.5 hours, returning to the longer route that was utilized for many years before being altered earlier this year.

These reports suggest that the decision has been prompted by security considerations and may potentially be a temporary measure.
