The Supreme Court on Monday, 22 Adar II 5774 accepted an appeal from Bnei Brak City Hall pertaining to the ongoing dispute of the Givat HaBanim Shabbos generator.
The nation’s Highest Court agreed to hear the appeal, which followed a Tel Aviv District Court ruling ordering the city to remove the generator. The lower court’s ruling is accompanied by a 4,000 shekel/day fine for each day the generator remains in place. The court order was issued in September 2013 so a considerable amount of money is due.
The court ruled the generator must stop operating within three months and it must be taken from its location within four months. However, the High Court canceled the 4,000/ day fine and the court did not compel the city to pay all the legal costs involved in the appeal.

YWN, can you remind us what the story is here? Why did the Tel Aviv court order the generator to be disconnected?

So the City has to move the generator but saved the money? That is an entirely clear loss. The location of generator is the important thing in this case, not the money. As far as my Rebbi taught money has never been THE priority in Yiddishkeit.
