Israeli Navy forces successfully intercepted and neutralized a group of Hamas terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Israel from the Gaza Strip via the sea, Tuesday evening.

The IDF has not provided specific details regarding the exact number of Hamas terrorist divers involved in the infiltration attempt. However, reports from Hebrew-language media suggest that a minimum of four terrorists were killed in the operation, while another report places the number at eight.

During the course of the operation, an alert signaling a possible infiltration was sounded in the border communities of Zikim and Karmia, heightening security concerns in the area.

In response to the threat, an IDF fighter jet conducted an airstrike targeting a compound from which the terrorists had set out, further thwarting their infiltration attempt.
