A wildcat strike announced by the Foreign Ministry labor union on Sunday, 21 Adar II results in the cessation of diplomatic and many other essential services in 103 Israeli diplomatic facilities worldwide. Union leaders announced “we will not permit the treasury to lead us to disaster”, then announcing the open-ended strike.
Employees around the world have been ordered to leave their desks immediately as the labor union and treasury have been unable to bridge their differences towards a new labor agreement.
According to labor leaders, only diplomatic personnel and office management will be permitted into the diplomatic facilities. All others will be kept out during the ongoing strike. “The strike impacts all 103 embassies and consulates around the world including New Zealand in the east, Paris, London, Berlin, Washington, San Francisco, and the Israeli diplomatic office in the UN” labor officials announce.
Labor union representative Yair Frumer announced the treasury has declared war on ministry services of the State of Israel and the dedicated diplomats that are fighting for the future of Israelis day in and day out, hour by hour. The ongoing labor dispute surrounds many issues. Labor officials explain the treasury wants to fire employees, cut word benefits and conditions.
For a first time in the state’s history, all diplomatic facilities will close and all work will be ignored. There is a committee that will address urgent matters but if you are in need of Israeli diplomatic services in Israel or abroad will now find a locked door.
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman calls the strike outrages and warns it will result in significant damage.
