There seems to be a phenomenon that when people start to make money they make believe that they are chasidish either in levush or they change the way they read Hebrew. Stay in your lane?
Lakewhut,
Well it goes two ways. What does it mean to be hiemish? I see many who’d never do a shidduch with an “American”. But if they have money they become hiemsh and shidduch worthy with the finest
Many if not most people tend to dress better if they start to have more money. And the more affluent you are, the more your accent tends to reflect the “better” class of people you associate with. That is human nature and applies to all cultures.
@lakewhut It would seem to be nothing more than a bit of an identity crisis, caused by them losing/questioning who they actually are due to their newfound money. Its not really a ‘stay in your lane’ vort, its more don’t let money corrupt your personal identity (or have a personal identity, so money won’t expose your lack thereof).
