30 Children Injured, 2 Seriously, In Beit Shemeh Bus Accident [VIDEOS & PHOTOS]

A serious bus accident occurred on Route 38 at the Eshta’ol Junction near Beit Shemesh late Wednesday afternoon when a bus carrying children overturned.

Paramedics administered medical aid at the scene to about 30 children around age 12  and evacuated 20 of them to Shaare Tzedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospitals in Beit Shemesh, two in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and the rest in light condition.

MDA paramedics said: “We quickly arrived at the scene and saw a bus turned on its side in the wadi next to the road. Fifteen passengers, children aged 8-12 emerged from the bus, all fully conscious – the bus driver also helped evacuate them. Two of the children were seriously wounded – one with multi-system injuries and the second with a stomach wound. We administered life-saving treatment and quickly evacuated them to the hospital in serious condition. One of them was sedated and ventilated in the trauma room.”

Police forces closed off the scene of the accident and traffic inspectors launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. It is not yet clear what caused the accident.

  1. I think I know what happened.
About a year ago, I was at the mechanic shop waiting for my car. I heard a few stories while I was there.
    Story:
One guy had a small leak in the pipe of the transmission fluid-somewhere along that pipe. He would pour in the fluid and it came out slowly. All you need is one car that has a leak of some sort and the road will become slippery and dangerous.
    Final advice:
If you are on a winding road like the picture above, you need to slow down.

  2. Refuah shelayma to all those who are injured. As a mother, I could not imagine the pain the families are going through. I am horrified that YWN posted pictures of children’s faces without parental consent. Shame on you

  3. Voyuer: Your inane comments suggest you too may be a victim of something really strange. The YWN editors generally use considerable discretion in what they show in a newsworthy story. I have issues with their use of file photos of political figures, but your comment is way out of linel

  4. @voyeur How is this considered making “profit of death”? Do you really think YWN only posted the videos so they could sadistic-ly enjoy the suffering of children?

What goes on through your mind to think that?

What if someone had a child who was on that bus and the videos posted here were the first and only source of the accident? Did you ever consider that?

  5. Gadolhadorah Your ad hominem attack resembles nothing like reason, fact or logic. Perhaps it would be appropriate to consider the feelings of the parents or family members whose injured relatives are paraded by this so called “yeshiva” world news. Have you no shame?

  6. Frumshmurda718 – that’s exactly my point. It is the relatives or subjects of these videos who should be considered. If you honestly think that people would want to find out about a potentially fatal accident via YWN then I grieve for your decaying humanity.

I can’t see any constructive reason, besides producing click bait, for why videos of suffering people should be uploaded to a public forum.

  7. By nature the Jewish people are private and reserved. The American psyche has corrupted core Jewish values and has left American orthodoxy in thrall to the gratification of public adoration.

These pleas for tznius and sensitivity will probably go unheeded or be censored by the moderator, but I will rage against the dying of the light.
