if ‘mainstream’ orthodoxy still believe that blood-letting is beneficial to one’s health, then i know exactly why i consider myself modern orthodox.
and that’s just one example. another one would be not to take medicine (a little ol’ pill) on shabbos because in the old days they had to grind medicines, well, again, i know why i am modern orthodox, and very happy with it.
