The Wall Street Journal has reported that officials from the United States and Saudi Arabia have reached preliminary understandings for a potential normalization agreement with Israel. The intention is for the finer points of this agreement to be worked out over the next year, although the chances of success are seen as somewhat limited, according to undisclosed sources within the US government.
Quoting an unnamed senior US official, the article states that there exists a detailed plan to delve into the various components of this potential agreement and to explore the boundaries of what could be achievable.
However, the report highlights that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has indicated a cautious approach toward forging a deal with the current Israeli government, known for its strong stance. He has expressed hesitance in fully embracing diplomatic ties with Israel in a manner similar to the United Arab Emirates’ establishment of relations under the Abraham Accords in 2020. The Crown Prince emphasized that he is not prepared to hastily commit to such a pact.

TBH, You can’t really blame Saudi Arabia. They are the defacto most important Arab country & giving up one of their most important bargaining chips should be done only with great caution. If the positions were reversed Israel would do the same (probably more). Once done undoing it becomes almost impossible.
As Jews & Americans we tend to think everything revolves around us. But there are huge variables at play in the (Non-Israel) Middle East.
Despite some recent understandings Saudi Arabia (Sunni) & Iran (Shia) are still bitter enemies upset about events that happened long ago & still looking for revenge. If Saudi Arabia making a deal with Israel will drive more Muslims (especially internally in the kingdom) into the arms of the Iranians that could be very problematic (to say the least) for the Saudis.
The US just has to stick their nose into everything….
It’s political to have us influence against the China Brics currency and probably doesn’t make sense cause if they are threatened from Yemen or Iran they want the UN to help them and this could be the gas well someplace that possibly Iran could use up and gas in Iran is almost like from Venezuela to Europe and they are not buying it cause of that bomb that Saudi wants and would use if not on Iran then the terrorist will use it somewhere and there are thousands of them in Saudi but Israel is not happy with uae and Bahrain but wants more and keeps complaining it wants peace with the Saudi what does this mean and what significance is it really Morocco wanted to go back on the peace cause of Palestine what is this pride in seeking Saudi recognition of the state of Israel is it that you can walk amongst Arabs without them killing you or is it thinking that now we are just like all the Moslem nations and there is no more of the galus
One should question value of an agreement with an unelected despot, in a country where there isn’t even the pretense of an elected legislature, and the “king” is merely a tribal leader from a small tribe that seized control by military force, and maintains control by terror. As long as Israel is making any concessions, it doesn’t hurt much when there is regime change and new regime doesn’t consider decisions by the deposed former rules to be binding (cf: Israel and America’s friendly relations with the Iranian Shah, and what it accomplished when his clearly dubious regime was overthrown).
