Israel continues its unilateral good-will gestures towards the PA (Palestinian Authority), not receiving anything in return while continuing to compromise security interests.
In the latest move, on Sunday, the Ganot Checkpoint connecting Shechem to northern Shomron Arab villages was opened to Arab motorists. IDF officials explain the move will help lower area unemployment among PA residents.
Not all military officials are pleased, with some high-ranking Central Command officers wary regarding the move, realizing relaxed restrictions permit terrorists increased mobility with fewer restrictions.
Other recently opened checkpoints include Beit Aravah near Yericho, Rimonim in the Benjamin Regional Council District of Shomron and K’vasim Jct. near Chevron.
