A new poll says New York City voters disagree with Mayor Bill de Blasio on several of his key policies.
The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday says voters prefer Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s plan to pay for pre-kindergarten from the state budget over de Blasio’s plan to raise taxes on the rich by a margin of 54 percent to 35 percent.
De Blasio says Cuomo’s plan won’t dedicate enough money.
Only 24 percent of voters back de Blasio’s plan to ban carriage horses from the city, while 64 percent say they should be left alone.
The poll has a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.
It comes a day after another Quinnipiac poll found that 44 percent of voters approve of de Blasio’s job performance while 34 percent disapprove.

If they didn’t like his policies, they shouldn’t have voted for him. They sound like they’re surprised by his policies. He stated them loud and clear. Now they don’t like them. Well, tough. They deserve him!
“If they didn’t like his policies, they shouldn’t have voted for him.”
Correct.
The truth is that both Lhota and De Blasio pledged to get rid of the horse drawn carriages and both won their party’s primaries easily. And De Blasio is correct and responsible in saying that you should have the financing in place when you start a new program. Cuomo is old style politics — promise what you can’t afford and let your successor deal with the consequences.
