A police description of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford smoking what appears to be crack cocaine has been released.
Ford acknowledged last year that he smoked crack in a “drunken stupor” after police said they obtained the video. News reports of the crack video’s existence first surfaced in May, but it has not been released publicly.
Court documents released Wednesday include a police description of the tape for the first time.
An officer says Ford holds a glass cylinder to his mouth and lights a lighter and applies the flame to the tip of the cylinder in a circular motion.
The officer says Ford inhales before he notices a recording device. The officer says Ford then asks if it is on.
Ford has refused to resign and is seeking re-election.
