Kadima leadership race candidates Tzipi Livni and Shaul Mofaz have met with Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik, each seeking her endorsement in the race. Earlier in the week, Itzik indicated she does not plan to announce her position, since she feels she must remain impartial to enable her to better work towards rehabilitating the party following the election.

This does not appear to be stopping the two primary candidates in the race from pressuring the Knesset Speaker to announce her position.
