Yesh Atid leader Finance Minister Yair Lapid announced on Wednesday, 10 Adar II that his party will not support Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer in his bid to become the nation’s next president.
Lapid was angered by the opposition boycott of the three important votes this week; the Referendum Bill, Draft Bill, and the Governance Bill. Lapid explained that since Ben-Eliezer followed the remainder of the opposition, he feels that such a person is not suited to serve as president for the example he set was a poor one, one that does not represent being a shaliach of all the people.
