Security Cabinet to Meet Over Anti-Aircraft Concerns in S. Lebanon

The Security Cabinet will convene on Wednesday to discuss new developments involving Hizbullah, primarily due reports the terror organization is working tenaciously to obtain advanced anti-aircraft systems which would change the balance of power of the skies of southern Lebanon. To date, the Israel Air Force operated with virtual impunity over Lebanon, but if the reports are accurate, the situation demands a reassessment of the situation and the implementation of new operating protocol.

Senior air force officers point out however that Israel has dealt with similar threats elsewhere in the past as it will over S. Lebanese skies in the future.

The cabinet will discuss the ongoing supply train of weapons to the terror organization, assisted and encouraged by both Iran and Syria.

According to the intelligence community, since the Second Lebanon War two years ago, Hizbullah has increased its missile arsenal two-to-three times, and thousands of rockets are pointed at Israel as the Iranian-backed terror organization continues ongoing efforts to prepare for the next round of military conflict with Israel.
