CHILLING RECORDING: Bitter Weeping, Cries Of Pain In Ponevezh At News Of Petirah

With the end of the shivah for HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein, z’tl, B’Chadrei Chareidim publicized a chilling recording from Yeshivas Ponevezh during the Rosh Yeshivah’s last moments, when the doctors were carrying out resuscitation attempts and after the news of his petirah.

The bochurim and avreichim of Ponevezh cried out to Hashem to save the Rosh Yeshivah, z’tl, in tefillos reminiscent of the Yamim Noraim, and when they received the news that it was all over, the Beis Medrash broke out with the sounds of bitter weeping.

The talmidim immediately removed the paroches from the Aron Kodesh, tore kriyah and sat down on the ground and wept.

Shortly later, the police closed the Beis Medrash and prevented anyone else from entering to prevent dangerous overcrowding. Those who were left in the Beis Medrash were the talmidim who remained in place, sitting on the ground, from the early morning until the levaya was held at 3:30 p.m.

Two recordings can be heard below, a shorter one and a longer one.

  2. My comment
First your supposed to grab away the mike
I do not want to say loshon hara about any person and no person knows who I am writing about over here or any of the people involved
But we would think that the rosh yeshiva would love them they are all crying for a tzadik and the Torah, but it says that hashem see the heart of the person just because he is crying doesn’t mean he is right there is only one reason can think of to cry for a hundred year old rabbi and that is they liked his kedushas bris and that is the one reason you can cry for him but if they asked eliyahu hanavi with all the blessing and torah in these years if anybody has kedushas bris he would tell you a flat NO it’s not existent so maybe the crying is for something else and if it is then they are probably wrong

Tell me a reason to cry for a hundred year old rabbi like that and be tzadikim if not kedushas bris

When they dance for lag bamore I also thought that it means that they are all ready to jump into the fire not to do avoda zorah but then later I understood this is not why they are dancing but it is some kind of confused Indian totem and taboo that has something to do with ethnicity

I want a rabbi to say that the crying was for no reason but for kedushas bris and that is the only reason that they could cry unless it is something bad

  3. Also he would of lived longer but the doctor that was supposed to resuscitate him killed him we still have the son of the ponevizher rav
