Askanim in Israel and Ukraine are working to have the body of an 80-year-old Breslover chasid transferred to Eretz Yisroel after he suddenly collapsed and passed away in Uman.

Hatzolah members in Uman who responded to the scene attempted to resuscitate the stricken man, but were forced to declared him deceased despite their valiant efforts.

“This is an unfortunate incident after Shavuot in Uman,” an Uman Hatzolah official said.

“Now we are working with the help of businessmen in Breslav and the businessmen of the Jewish communities in Ukraine to fly his body to Israel. It is a complicated flight due to the need to cross land borders.”
