Can any of the coffee room regulars let an am ha’aretz know what is the difference between a caffeinated coffee room and a decaf coffee room.
Also how do I search old topics in the coffee room?

THE SHOCKING TRUTH MESSAGE DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM RELATING TO COFFEE:

Do YOU drink coffee, I’m just asking? See that’s your corrupted human psychological mind (יצר הרע) fooling you and convincing you huh I had my morning coffee, now I feel strong and ready to go to work/learn. What would be if your spouse or parent woke you up one morning and asked you, how are you feeling today? now that you slept longer than usual? You would reply I’m feeling much better and more ready for my day. And then a minute later the person yells back at you, no it’s a mistake that was 2 nights ago, don’t you remember last night we had a late night wedding and didn’t return home until after 2:00am? What would happen to you as soon as you heard that? Your entire body would weaken now that your corrupted human psychological mind told you that you slept the same many hours as usual. Showing you that it’s all in your corrupted human psychological mind (יצר הרע) and the way how a person thinks. What’s A Pill/Vitamin? 100 crumbs put together to make it into a pill but nobody in the world can heal anyone besides Hashem Directly and all strength comes DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM as we say in davening every morning Boruch Hanosein layoeif Coach-Blessed is Hashem for giving us strength. Sure we still have to do our part hishtadlus and eat, drink, sleep etc…. But in truth it all comes directly from Hashem. Who do YOU think has a bigger chance of their tefillos being answered directly from Hashem? Go to a Gadol Hador for a Bracha for Children or a Shidduch etc … or go to the corner of your house and call out directly to Hashem? Your right He’s a big Gadol Hador and there’s a famous line called “צדיק גוזר ה מקיים” but the pro of YOU going directly to Hashem is WAY more powerful. What’s the message? Stop depending on Rebbe’s, segulahs, doctor’s & Lawyers and turn directly to Hashem for help as we say in bentching from Tehillim “ודורשי ה לא יחסרו כל טוב” i.e. for one who seeks out Hashem directly lacks nothing that is good.

Bava basra 116, anyone who has a sick person in his house should go to a chacham in the city, and he should daven for him

Seeking out Hashem doesn’t mean not turning to tzadikim. That’s a mistake.

    #2188541

Right, to a chacham – not a “tzadik” – who will “ikaper” the anger of Hashem… So, if Hashem is angry at a person (and commentaries follow this line), maybe the first thing Chacham could do is figure out what the anger is about and help defend the sick person, possibly by giving him understanding what H’ is angry about. I don’t see commentaries saying that, but this sounds like peshat.

I am not sure if “sick person in his house” is a euphemism, meaning a person himself, or an adult is responsible for the health of his household?

Shenei Luchot HaBerit mentions this in passing when talking about health, starting with that the best refuah is prevention and taking care of his health even in small matters, and, at the end, it is all b’ yadei shamaim, daven, go to Chacham. So, maybe understanding of the Gemora is that you go to the Chahcam if you can’t figure it out and fix yourself.

Am I mistaken? I thought Nevuah (“MESSAGE DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM…”) stopped many a year ago. Just for that purpose, so that no one sane should be getting up one day (after a cup of corrupted human psychological mind morning coffee) and claim to have heard a “MESSAGE DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM”.

That’s why we paid no heed to “that man”.

Someone who keeps posting messages “heard directly from HASHEM”, well, if it’s not Nevua, than it must be…

It says לכו בנים שמעו לי יראת ה’ אלמדכם, it should have said בואו בנים? Maybe the rebbi is the ‘יראת ה when one goes away to him for help will turn one teshuva.

    LF,

You know I like you as a friend and friends tell the person what he doesn’t want to hear so just know that I’m doing it because I’m your friend

I wanted to post something regarding his post and I realized what’s the point? He’s not going to listen to me anyways so I just chose not to pay attention to it and not reply to it? It will just bother me and won’t affect him

    So I didn’t post

    741,

“Can any of the coffee room regulars let an am ha’aretz know what is the difference between a caffeinated coffee room and a decaf coffee room.”

The CR is powered by WordPress software. An older version allowed multiple subforums to be displayed on the CR landing page. But the current version does not allow that. We also lost our subtitles 🙁 Therefore, what was previously one of the subforums: “Decaffeinated Coffee” now is the default forum. If you put your post into other subforums, it won’t be visible when people land on the CR.

Maybe this is another answer to Neville ChaimBerlin. With everyone consuming decaf only, the CR has become a sleepy place!

found a good story about BB 116, why “chochom”
Rav Shlomo Zalman smiled back at the happy father and remarked, “Chazal tell us in Bava Basra 116 that if someone has a sick person among the people of his household, he should go to the ‘chochom’ and ask that he beseech Hashem to have mercy on the sufferer. “The language here seems strange. Why not direct someone to go to a tzaddik? Why a chochom? I once heard a tongue-in-cheek answer from Rav Eliyahu Kletzkin from Lublin. He explained that if a person goes to a tzaddik and the sick man recovers, the tzaddik could mistakenly think he is a baal mofes. For this reason it adjures one to go to a chocham. A wise man understands that this came from Hashem and will not think of himself as a baal mofes!”

Reb Elchanan Wasserman ztvk”l Hy”d explains that one who is suffering obviously deserves to suffer so his tefillos to Hashem may not be effective. But when a tzaddik shares in his suffering, and he surely does not deserve that pain, his tefillos to remove the pain from both of them are more likely to be accepted.

All suffering a person goes through while living in this temporary physical world is either as a test of faith directly from Hashem or a punishment to get already in this physical world then need to C”V wait and be punished in the true world above after going through bais din shel maalah.

Hashem gives us time in this world hoping that the person will do sincere teshuva and can get his punishment for doing the sin removed from him. This is how we know that Hashem first created this gift of Teshuva before even creating the entire world cause the world can’t stay alive running without the chance to do teshuva and start working fresh again. Like we all do every Yom Kippur.

We have in Sotah ~42 that if a person has too much zevel coming out, he needs to check the status of his health and fix himself before things became worse. Similarly, B Metztya 107 talks about people being responsible for effects of cold and heat and how a healthy breakfast (bread, salt, water) has so many physical and spiritual benefits. At the same time, Sotah also says that Hashem protection is limited to people who do not have aveiros…

So, you need to read BB 116 in the context of these other sources. My suggestion is that one first checks his health, then checks his aveiros, and only then go to the chochom (not simply a talmid of one). Just for the simple reason that we, R’L, have more sick people than Chachomim, so the latter need some time to learn. Do you have a better explanation that covers all sources, not just one?

R Elchonon’s statement seem to contradict all of the sources, whether requiring refuah or going to the chochom. also, requires an explanation.
