No Security Guards for Public Schools in Israel

The nationwide Parents Teachers Association has already announced they will not permit children to attend opening day in the nation’s public schools if the government does not reverse its decision to cut school security guards.

The cost-saving measure they explain will not have a good outcome and the PTA is unwilling to play a role in such a move leaders explain, a move which will undoubtedly result in some sort of catastrophe at a school, which will prompt cabinet ministers to return to the current system of armed guards in schools.

Even if the government does agree however, the situation is tenuous and school administrators agree it is difficult to find and retain reliable personnel due to the low pay and poor conditions for a position which carries enormous responsibility.
