After the Shaked Committee voted on the new draft bill, it is set to return to Knesset for a second and third/final vote. If it passes it will become law, replacing the Tal Law that was disqualified by the Supreme Court.
The Knesset Committee on Wednesday morning 3 Adar II 5774 inserted the vote on the draft bill into the plenum agenda for the following Wednesday, 10 Adar II. The plenum debate on the bill will begin a day earlier, on Tuesday, 9 Adar II. In line with the instructions of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the criminal sanctions for non-compliance with the new draft law remain in the draft bill.
The debate will get underway on Tuesday at 11:00 and the vote is set for Wednesday at 10:00.
