A grand jury in Georgia has recommended that indictments be issued in an ongoing investigation into former US President Donald Trump, according to a report from the New York Times.
The grand jury’s forewoman, Emily Kohrs, told the outlet that the jury’s recommendations are “not going to be some giant plot twist” and that a number of individuals are on the list to be indicted.
“It is not a short list,” Kohrs said.
When asked specifically if Donald Trump would be recommended for indictment, Kohrs said, “You’re not going to be shocked. It’s not rocket science,” adding, “You won’t be too surprised.”
The grand jury, empaneled last May, had subpoenaed dozens of people as it investigated alleged attempts by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia. The subpoenaed individuals include Trump lawyer and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Sen. Lindsey Graham, former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
The investigation was launched by Fulton County DA Fani Willis after audio of Trump’s call with Raffensperger was leaked in which the president pushed him to illegally alter the results in Georgia.
“All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have,” Trump told Raffensperger. “Because we won the state.”
The grand jury’s decision is ultimately only a recommendation. Grand juries in Georgia cannot themselves indict and individual; however, their decision carries weight with DA Willis, who will make the final decision over whether to prosecute Trump.

It would appear that the Donald has a good chance of serving for another term—but in prison…

That was a very intelligent thing for you to say. I’m sure your life is way better now after 2 years of sleepy Joe Biden who can’t make it up a flight of stairs on his freaking airplane than it was before under President Trump. Maybe yours is better but the rest of the countries isn’t. I’m having problem paying school tuition and putting food on the table for my family thanks to our wonderful bumbling idiot in Washington. So since you probably voted for him also, you are just at fault and I wish you the same thing that I wish the others.
While I’m not surprised about the outcome, she is a total jerk for spouting to the media. While its not technically “illegal” in Georgia for a Grand Jury member to speak in general terms about their deliberations, it will certainly make it harder to empanel a jury and will give Trump’s lawyers a clear line of argument to dismiss the charges

That is an outright bleeping lie. Pure hateful deliberate falsehood, and a blood libel.
(The real, actual blood libel was the claim that the Capitol rioters killed Officer Brian Sicknick. That is the exact equivalent of the classical blood libel that was used against the Jews.)
@jersey jew I’m sorry for your hardship, everyone’s in a crunch now. However, do you realize that Hashem is in charge of the president’s decisions? לב שרים וצלכים ביד ה. The bigger they are, the more noise they make, but the less decision-making powers they possess. Economies are WAY bigger than one man, and Hashem sent COVID here to put blinders on everyone that wants them, or to open the eyes of those who care to look. סר לראות
