Bracha Lederman, the mother of Hakadosh Altar Shlomo, h’yd, who was murdered in the Ramot terror attack in front of his wife of only six months, spoke to Reshet Bet on Sunday morning.
“He was standing with his wife at the bus stop,” she said. “She saw a car speeding toward them. The terrorist began with him and continued. People fell like flies.”
She spoke about her trip to the hospital. “The entire way, we still hoped that we were coming to sit next to our wounded son. When we arrived, they told us it was over. I asked them to remove the blanket covering him. His body was crushed, he had a head wound – he never had a chance.”
Altar Shlomo, h’yd, and his wife Chaya were on their way to spend Shabbos with his parents in Elad. “He loved her and took care of her. He knew how to always respect her wishes b’simcha.”
She described her son: “He had concern and love for every friend. He was very active, he had many roles in yeshivah. Everyone was connected to him. I was sure that his [future] children would have so much fun because he would have been a great father.”
“In our last phone call, he asked if I needed anything for Shabbos. He had the items I asked for in his suitcase. I can’t think of him as someone who was in the past and is no longer here.”

The rehabilitation and recovery expenses are enormous. All of us want to help the young widow put her life together, to help her rebuild. Words are insufficient – we want to do something le’ilui nishomoso and for the good of the widow. She cannot do this on her own.
