Unlike the vast majority of conservatives, former Trump campaign manager declined to heap praise on Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders for her rebuttal to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. In fact, he trashed her over it, particularly for not mentioning Donald Trump.
“During Huckabee’s [speech], I kept saying, “Say his name, say his name.” It was an insult to President Trump. She does not exist politically if it was not for President Trump,” Bannon said.
“That speech, I thought that speech was terrible. It goes into the wokeism, and that’s all interesting. But you gotta get to the heart of the matter. The heart of the matter is the debt ceiling, the CCP. If you’re gonna give a counter speech, you gotta talk about important issues,” he insisted.
“Don’t get me wrong,” Bannon added. “The wokeism is very important. But it’s not quite the heart of the matter right now, right? It’s not the heart of the matter. She is not–and the reason is she’s just not–she’s not intellectually capable of going to the heart of the matter, right? Let’s be blunt.”
Bannon served together with Sanders in the Trump White House. Sanders was Trump’s deputy press secretary while Bannon served as chief strategist until being fired in August 2017. Sanders was promoted to White House press secretary later that year.

Having gone to a non-elite urban high school and a non-name private college not only does NOT indicate lack of intellectual ability, but will appeal to the majority of Americans who also did not go to prep schools and elite universities. One might think that many Americans are getting tired of being ruled by former preppies with expensive/elite university degrees.
