In an apparently random post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump said it was a tremendous privilege to fire Dr. Deborah Birx, one of his top Covid advisers, adding that she had “nice scarves.”

“One of the greatest privileges I had as Preside4nt firing Deborah Birx. The only thing she had going was nice scarves,” Trump wrote.

“I remember so well when she was lecturing the American people not to leave their homes for Thanksgiving, and then she traveled hundreds of miles to visit her family, who incredibly turned her into the police. The only one who thought highly of her was herself!” he said.

Birx was busted in December 2020 of having visited family members while she was at the same time telling Americans not to do that. Not long after, she announced that she was retiring.

The post is somewhat of a headscratcher as it’s quite unclear what prompted it, though he did separately share an article from July that accused Birx of manipulating Americans about Covid vaccines – which Trump has supported.
