Vice President Joe Biden says his decision on whether to seek the presidency in 2016 will not hinge on whether Hillary Clinton enters the race.
Biden said on ABC’s “The View” talk show that he had not made up his mind on running. He kept the door open, saying his experience uniquely positions him to follow through on his and President Barack Obama’s agenda.
He said he has had, quote, “carte blanche” while undertaking major assignments for Obama.
He said that before discussing the 2016 election, it was important to focus on winning control of the House of Representatives and retaining Democratic control of the Senate this year.
He said, quote, “If we don’t do that, our agenda is not going to be worth very much those last two years.”
