Fighting Rages in Gaza Between Hamas & Fatah

13 months after the Hamas-regime rose to power in Gaza, Fatah and Hamas factions are once again firing their weapons at one-another.

Hamas leaders blame Muhmad Dahlan, the former PA (Palestinian Authority) national security advisor under PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) for the Friday night explosion that killed 5 Hamas terrorists and a 4-year-old girl. Following the explosion, Hamas arrested 160 people aligned with Fatah. Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyah vowed he will “seek justice” with those responsible for the explosion, which left others injured. Among the dead was Hamas’ commander in Sajayieh, Nihad Masbah as well as other senior officials in the terrorist organization.

The explosion occurred at about 8:30PM in the Hilal Café, frequented by Hamas supporters. The explosive device was detonated near a vehicle of a known Hamas personality outside the café.

Hamas did not seek to blame Israel for the explosion, stating they are aware there are forces seeking to create anarchy in Gaza, but Hamas will not permit such a reality.

In southern Israel, security officials fear the ongoing fighting in Gaza may result in renewed rocket attacks, prompting the IDF to order a heightened operational status on Sunday.
