Amid expectations that the Persian Gulf state of Oman will follow in the footsteps of other Muslim states that normalized relations with Israel, its Shura Council on Monday voted to expand its boycott against Israel rather than lifting it, the Omani WAF news agency reported.
The Shura Council, which convened on Monday to deliberate its law boycotting Israel, expanded the boycott by amending the first clause to include any contact with Israeli sports, cultural or economic entities.
The amendment also forbids Omanis from engaging with Israelis in person or even online.
Assembly Vice-President Yaaqoub Al-Harethi said that the amendment “expands the boycott and criminalization of Israel.”
The amendment must still be deliberated by the Majlis legislative committee and be brought for a final vote.

Oh Man!
“Unexpected”!
Seriously?
Vnoimar….Oman!
Let’s see how quickly this boycott lasts when Israel comes up with it’s next medical intervention which the people in Oman will need. Then they’ll dance their way out of this.
It’s a political game. Whose side do you need to be on in the moment?
