US Chief of Joint Staffs on Thursday, in a full military ceremony in the Pentagon, awarded IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi with a citation acknowledging his efforts in the war against terrorism.

The American military cited the IDF chief’s extraordinary determination to combat terrorism, in additional to his efforts to strengthen the bond between American and Israeli armed forces.

The IDF commander has been holding meetings in the US capital to discuss numerous issues, with the Iranian nuclear threat atop of the list.
