Baruch Hashem doctors report the condition of HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita has improved over Shabbos. The elderly gadol was admitted to Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital last week after complaining of weakness and exhibiting difficulty breathing. The 88-year-old posek underwent complicated surgery to correct an intestinal blockage.
The rav was admitted to an intensive care unit after leaving the recovery room, and on erev Shabbos he was disconnect from mechanical assisted breathing. On Shabbos the rav sat in a chair and spoke with those who spent Shabbos with him, including Rosh Kollel Chazon Ish Rabbi Shaul Karelitz and his son-in-law HaGaon HaRav Shriel Rosenberg.
