Sunny and cold conditions continue today until tonight. Low pressure developing along the gulf coast and will track up the eastern seaboard on Thursday. This will produce a winter snow storm for NYC beginning Wednesday overnight until Thursday night.
PRECIPITATION AND TIMING
The storm will move into the NYC area at approximately 4 AM to 5 AM Thursday morning and will persist until Thursday evening. The NWS forecasts up to 2-4 inches of snow by 8 AM Thursday morning. The snow is forecasted to change over to a wintery mix or all rain by 10 AM to 12PM Thursday before changing back over to snow Thursday evening. An additional 2 inches plus could accumulate after the changeover. NWS reports the possible total snow accumulation for this event is between 4 and 8 inches. The snow accumulation can be less or more depending on the timing of change over from snow to wintry mix/rain.
