Shas MK Eli Yishai is calling on the treasury to hold funding for universities as he has done to yeshivos for the former is home to many draft dodgers. Referring to the Supreme Court decision instructing the treasury to stop funding for avreichim who should have been inducted this summer, Yishai has introduced a bill that will compel the treasury to stop funding for universities if the student body includes over 20% draft dodgers.

In a related matter, it is reported on Wednesday afternoon 5 Adar I 5774 that when learning the funding for yeshivos was already released by the Education Ministry, Finance Minister Yair Lapid instructed Education Minister Rabbi Shai Piron to reverse the funding and get the money back immediately.
