Last week, the state cut off security for former President Moshe Katsav. The ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) agents who were protecting the president were given a new assignment as of last Wednesday, a year after the former president stepped down from his post. According to security officials, the move is in compliance with standard operating procedures, and the decision was approved by the President’s Residence.
The decision to remove his security agents does not include taking away the former president’s government-issued bulletproof Volvo sedan and the government driver.
