The year 5774 is the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Bnei Brak. The Torah city continues to grow BA”H and its population recently surpassed the 180,000 mark, now numbering 181,364. The number of residents in the city just 4.5 years ago numbered 160,000.
City spokesman Avraham Tannenbaum explains there are different sources for information but he feels the most reliable regarding the number of residents is the Ministry of the Interior’s population registration office. The latest figure regarding the number of residents was released on 23 Shevat 5774.
Following is a breakdown of the city’s population by age;
· 0-5 (32,828 residents)
· 6-12 (29,645 residents)
· 13-17 (18,409)
· 18-21 (13,749)
· 22-40 (43,030)
· 41-60 (24,945)
· Over 60 (18,749)
(Does not add up but these are the figures provided)
The average family size is 4.2 with 181,364 people living in an area of 7,022 dunams (1,755.5 acres), making it an extremely densely populated city.

I don’t get it , in the Hagada it states R Akiva and his Friends were in Bnei Barak , that’s over 90 years ago , can someone explain please ?

Different city.
The one from the haggada was probably somewhere in the Galil.
Bnei Brak today is a modern city with no connection to Bnei Brak of the Tanaic period. ThAt is part of current day Tel Aviv.
I don’t think that the place in the hagaddah is the same place, just the same name
#1- For that matter, Bnei Brak is already mentioned in sefer Yehoshua (Ch. 19), delineating the border of nachalat shevet Dan. Ancient Bnei Brak is usually associated with a little hill (‘tel’) near the ‘Mesubim’ junction (which was named after the portion in the haggadah that you referred to). Modern Bnei Brak, which is several miles from there, was founded 90 years ago (by a group of religious farmers) and was named after ancient Bnei Brak.
