Beginning on Thursday evening, thousands have been making their way to the kever of the Or HaChayim HaKadosh, Rav Chaim ben Atar, located in Yerushalayim’s Har HaZeisim, marking his yahrzeit, 15 Tammuz.
Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky has made arrangements to facilitate travel to the kever, including stepped-up police protection in the area. Not only will there be a police presence on Har HaZeisim, but along the way between the kever and the Kosel.
Egged is running the 29 line, leaving on Jaffa Street opposite the Central Bus Station. The service began on Friday morning at 8:00AM, and will continue until 2:00PM. Because of traffic realities on an erev Shabbos, the bus will not enter into Geula or Meah Shearim.
After the Central Bus Station, the bus turns left to Sarei Yisrael, right to Malchei Yisrael (opposite Boiyan), left to Brandeis, right to Yirmiyahu, right to Shmuel HaNavi and then continuing on the number 2 route until the bus turns left to Har HaZeisim.
The buses will be marked “Special Service to Har HaZeisim – 29” and the fare will be a regular inner-city bus fare.
