The retiring Dr. Anthony Fauci is hoping you have memory loss, because he doesn’t want you remembering the fact that he pushed for nationwide shutdowns in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, he explicitly denies it ever happened.
In an interview on Fox News, Fauci was faced with some difficult questions from host Neil Cavuto.
“Do you regret the shutdown, the sweeping shutdown that some said made things worse?” Cavuto asked.
“No, I don’t, Neil,” Fauci responded, going on to incredulously claim that he isn’t responsible for them. “And, in fact, I think we need to make sure that your listeners understand, I didn’t shut down anything. There was a lot of consideration among the White House task force that we were reaching a point where the hospitals such as in New York City and other places were being strained to the point of practically being overwhelmed.”
Asked if he thinks lockdowns went “too far,” Fauci said, “I don’t think [lockdowns and school closures] irreparably damaged anyone. If you go back, people selectively pull things out of me.”
Poor Dr. Fauci, being blamed for things he said and advocated for.

As much I did not respect Fauci , he has not had a power to shout down anything , he is just a bureaucrat . Although he advised to President and lied to the public ( in my opinion )
Technically, he is correct. It was the idiot politicians who listened to him, and often misunderstood what he was saying, who shut everything down. Fauci seemed oblivious to when social media and politicians clearly misstated what he said.
Nothing he said was incorrect.
According to Dr Birx, the immoral lying adulterer ex president was responsible for thousands (probably tens of thousands) of unnecessary deaths and illnesses due to his inaction and denial of the deadly disease. B’H the doctors and professional experts were able to accomplish as much as they were permitted or it would have been an even greater disaster.
The headline is colossally stupid. Fauci gave sound medical and public heath advice, and some politicians/government officials were smart enough to follow his sound advice.

The only thing he actually didn’t shut down was his stupid lying mouth. Hope he gets a job on CNN so nobody will ever have to see or him hear him ever again.
Congratulations Huju, the idiot of the day award goes to you. Look at virtually any statistic prescription drug abuse, alcoholism, domestic violence, suicide have all unfortunately increased do to Fauci “sound medical advice”.
