After a second bus filled with illegal immigrants arrived in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams went after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, calling the move “horrific.”
“This is horrific when you think about what the governor is doing,” Adams said. “We’re finding that some of the families are on the bus that wanted to go to other locations, and they were not allowed to do so.”
“They were forced on the bus with the understanding that they were going to other locations that they wanted to go to, and when they tried to explain they were not allowed to do so,” Adams said.
Texas Gov. Abbott has been shipping migrants who illegally entered the United States to liberal cities in order to bring attention to the issue of illegal immigration in his own state. In response, Adams has accused Abbott of using the migrants “as political pawns to manufacture a crisis.”
“They’re not letting us know when the buses are leaving,” Adams complained. “They’re not letting us know what are the needs of the people on the bus. They are not giving us any information, so we’re unable to really provide the service to people en route.”
In a statement, Abbot said that “in addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city.”
“I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief,” he added.
.@GregAbbott_TX used innocent people as political pawns to manufacture a crisis. New Yorkers are stepping up to fix it — that’s our city’s values.
But we need the federal government’s help — money, technical assistance and more. pic.twitter.com/cOdXrULpcC

The 1st bus of migrants has arrived in NYC.
Biden refuses to do his job, so Texas continues to take unprecedented action to secure our border.
NYC is the ideal destination for these migrants.
They can receive the services Mayor Adams has boasted about w/in the sanctuary city. pic.twitter.com/4sw41RqKdx

A bus ride from Texas to New York takes over 24 hours. Will no stops that’s quite punishing.
The idea was to show that while liberal Blue states are all in favor of uncontrolled migration on the border of Red states in the “flyover” part of the country, they want no part of the migrants moving to their own states. What the governors showed, is that the Democrats (and Adams is a Democrat, even if many Republicans find him less obnoxious than his woke allies), are hypocrites. If uncontrolled migration is good for the deplorables, why isn’t it good for the elites.
the guy right next to adams is wearing a kaffiyah around his neck so flood the country with illegals stand with the arabs whats next
What’s Eric kvetching about? He ILLEGALLY continues DeBlasio’s Sanctuary City in NYC. Everyone is woke and Karen/Daren until they show up on THEIR doorstep. Adams, you reap what you sow. Legal citizens here in the City can’t get City/State/government services without jumping thru hoops. These illegal migrant bums get everything immediately handed to them on a silver platter.
What a hypocrite. He’s just getting a tiny tiny taste of the Hell the border towns have been going through for years now, with his active encouragement. He wants them to suffer, but he can’t take even a tiny bit of it. What makes NYC more privileged than the TX and AZ border towns?
Abbot is doing to NYC exactly what Biden is doing to Texas. As long as Adams won’t condemn the illegal invasion into this country than he should just share in it.
what a hypocrite nothing about that dumb guy sleeping in the white house
In a way this is good. Why Adam’s is upset is that the Blacks in the shelters are being pushed out as the Mexicans come in. The Mexicans will serve our communities well as workers and not too much crime unlike the others.
The irony is that due to pro-business economic policies, including support manufacturing, the “red” states tend to have a more serious labor shortage, which immigration could solve. “Blue” states tend to be very hostile to the sorts of industries that create blue collar jobs.
