MK (Meretz) Avshalom Vilan told Israel TV on Wednesday that regardless of one’s political affiliation, we must all realize that the soldiers must be brought home, even when the cost is high as in today’s case.

Vilan, a former combatant in the elite Sayeret Matkal commando force, explained “all the past prime ministers who were generals, Rabin and Sharon paid heavily for the return of soldiers and this is the way it must continue.”

MK (National Union) Rabbi Binyamin Elon disagreed, stating emphatically we may not bring home bodies at any cost and the current trend is harmful to the security of the nation.
