Syag: I think you nailed it. Yes, for now, a primary concern IS with what is happening in many states regarding the upcoming 22 and 24 elections. You have a guy who going back to 2015/16 was already claiming the elections were “rigged” and for the next several years stoked those unsubstantiated claims (all rejected by the Courts and Judges from all ends of the political spectrum including Trump’s own appointees). When confronted with that reality, the Trump lawyers (Sidney Powell et. al) claimed that ALL those judges were corrupt. Notwithstanding the absence of any material evidence of “massive voter fraud”, 20+ red states have adopted wide ranging election law reforms, some of which would literally empower state legislators and activists to preempt local election officials and restrict voting access to segments of the electorate.
Bottom Line: When individuals indicted for their involvement in the January 6th riots and/or engaged in total denial of the 2020 election outcome are candidates for state and local election officials and many states are engaged in efforts to make voting more difficult and the counting of votes more opaque , there is much reason to worry. And yes, it worries me more than paying $5/gallon for gas.
