According to the Ichud Hatzalah report, the victim, a pedestrian, was struck by a tractor at Netaim Street in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, 14 Shevat 5774. The victim, Rabbi Elkana Alyasi z”l, in his 40s, was gravely injured. Despite resuscitation efforts by EMTs and MDA paramedics, he was pronounced dead on the scene. It appears the shovel of the tractor struck the rav in his head.

Rabbi Alyasi was the rav of a Tel Aviv shul and a well known talmid chacham. He is survived by 12 children.
